Summer Is Here

Hello September and hello to my favourite time of year Autumn. Before we get into Autumn though it’s time for a look back to the Summer.

I do love the summer lighter nights, sunshine and days out. It’s a nice break from dark nights and bad weather.

In the summer it was nice and in the two weeks holiday I had of work we had some nice weather. I made the most of my time off going to Newcastle, South Shields park and beach. Tynemouth beach and we went to the Blue Reef Aquarium. I love living where I live because there’s loads to do and who doesn’t love a trip to the beach in the summer?

I got to take some nice photos and shared them to Instagram and made a YouTube video too. In my post Trip To The Blue Reef Aquarium you can check out my photos and thoughts on our trip there.

Books I’m Currently Reading

Hello happy bank holiday Monday. In my blog post The Blog About Resolutions I said one of my resolutions was to read more. Well I’m trying but finding the time is hard at times, but when I can I do read.

I’ve recently bought all the Harry Potter books and started reading them. I’m a fan of the books and films.

I’ve just bought A Clockwork Orange as I’ve seen the film and love it but never read the book. They do say the book is always better.

I’ve also been reading some of Stephen King’s books. I bought Salems Lot which I’ve always wanted to read because I love Stephen King books and film/tv adaptations from his books like It and The Shining. I also love things about vampires so I’m enjoying Salems Lot, I just need to finish it. I also bought The Shining and Doctor Sleep.

I’ve also been reading American Psycho. I love the film and heard nothing but good things about the book and people are right. It’s a great book.

I’ve got most of The Dexter books now and I’m getting through them and hopefully finish them all soon. I want to buy the graphic novels too as I’ve heard good things about them. I’m a fan of the show and books so will have to get them.

The last couple of weeks I’ve been on holiday so I’ve found more time to read and I should be finished these books soon. So I’m sticking to my resolution and I will read more.

Have you got any recommendations for me to read? If so just let me know and I might check it out.

Thanks for reading.

Views Of My City

Hello, I’m lucky enough to live in Newcastle, Upon Tyne and I’ve got to say I love this city.

There’s lots to do and see. As someone who loves photography there’s lots to take photos of and lots of opportunities to get some great looking photos.

These are just some of my favourite photos I have taken. They’ll be more to come in the future on my blog from me and may give selling prints a go soon. I’ll update if and when I do.

I love my city video will be on YouTube soon too so stay tuned for that.

For now though have a watch of my latest video.

Trip To The Blue Reef Aquarium

Hello, on Tuesday me and the little ones went to the Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth .

We went haven’t been since last year, so we decided to go and they love it. It’s open from 10 am to 6 pm, £10.75 for adults and £8.25 for children under 3’s get in for free.
It’s got a variety of fish, small reef sharks, stingrays and seals. Also lizards, turtles and monkeys. They do shows too, like the seal show and monkey feeding. My favourite are the sharks I’ve always loved sharks so Ialways like  to see them. My son loved the Sharks too and the turtles. My daughter loves Finding Nemo and Dorey so she loved the clownfish.

If you live in or around the area I recommend paying it a visit, it’s a great place for families to go.

Captain Fawcett And Beard Tips

Hello, I’ve had a beard now for nearly four years and I don’t think I could ever shave it off, it’s a part of me now.

Some people have asked me how I take care of it and keep it neat. It’s simple really, you grow it to the length you want, invest in a decent beard trimmer and trim your beard when needed and use a good beard oil. I heard about beard oil a couple of years ago now and I decided to give it a try.

One brand of beard oil I have tried is Captain Fawcett. The latest I’ve tried is Booze & Baccy by Ricki Hall. I bought a 10ml bottle for £11:99. You only need a few drops of the oil, It looks great, smells great and make your beard feel great. I also bought Ricki Halls beard balm too for £15:00. It’s perfect for taming your beard. In the past I’ve tried the moustache wax for £9:00 it’s good for taming your moustache or pointing the ends if that’s what your into. The original beard oil smells good and works great too. Last but not least is Jimmy Niggles Million Dollar beard oil. It has 23 carrot gold flakes in the oil, It smells great and leaves your beard feeling like (pardon the pun) a million dollars.

Other tips I recommend to maintain your beard is to buy a good comb too, I use Kent combs they are reasonably priced and do the job. One of the most important things to do in growing a beard is to just let it grow don’t try and trim it in the beginning and mess with the neck line to much. You can style it the way you want once it grows to a decent length and keep it the way you want it. So if you’re growing a beard or already have one I recommend those little tips and beard oils. You’ll not regret trying them, your beard will smell nice and will thank you for it too.

Dead Beat Dads

Hello, this blog has been sat in my drafts  for a while now and I was unsure if I was going to post it or not but now is the time I suppose.

Last Sunday was Fathers Day and it got me thinking about me being about what it is to be a father and about my relationship, well lack of relationship with my father. I was just a young boy when my Mother and Father got divorced. My Mam raised me pretty much on her own from then on. My father wasn’t around much after the divorce and then wasn’t around at all. I never felt close to my father and never felt like he wanted me around. He pretty much proved that when he never bothered anymore.

The thing I don’t get is how anyone can just forget about their children and have nothing to do with them?

No matter how bad things get in a marriage or relationship you should never just give up on your children aswell. I know it’s easier said than done and not everyone has things the same way in life, but if you’re man enough to make a child then you should be man enough to raise a child. I always said that before I had children that I would never be like my father and I will always be there for them. Becoming a dad was the best thing that has ever happened to me. The bond and love I have for my children is strong and I don’t think I could never not be in there lives. Me and my ex have been separated for over a year now for different reasons, but I have stayed true to what I have said about being in my children’s lives. It’s something that will never change no matter what has happened in the past or in the future.

It’s just a shame not all fathers think the same and make the effort. So for all the real Fathers out there keep up the good work.

If You Haven’t Got Anything Nice To Say, Don’t Say Anything

Hello, I’m back and I’ve got a few things to get of my chest in the next few blogs, so a couple of new, different blogs coming. I said in The Blog Where It All Begins to expect a pretty honest blog by me so here we go.

I have a full time job working at a shop and at times it’s like being back at school. People gossip and spread lies like wild fire at times. People get in relationships with people they work with and that’s not always the best idea considering if you break up you still have to work with that person. I myself have been in that situation so I know what I’m talking about. It’s like when we have our Christmas party the talk of the shop the next day is who hooked up with who, who argued or who had a fight. It always happens and not just at that time of year. It’s human nature to talk about people but sometimes it just gets a bit childish and blown out of per portion. I wonder at times if some people have nothing better to talk about. Everyone of us is adults and I just think everyone should be a little more mindful about what they say. Not everyone takes things the same way and people need to realise gossip and rumours can actually have a negative impact on someone.

I just like to keep myself to myself and only tell stuff to the people I trust which is only a few people to be honest. Like the saying goes “If you haven’t got anything nice to say, don’t say anything.”
