Do It For The Gram

Hello happy Monday. Today I’m doing it for the gram.

I love Instagram as I have a love for photography and videography. I love going out and taking photos and making videos. It’s a great social network site to share your photos and videos. Whether it’s a photo of a great view, something you love, people or a night out. It’s a perfect site to get creative with. It’s one of if not my favourite social network. Have a look at mine if you get a chance davidjoman

Choose Life, Choose Vinyl

Hello, A while ago I bought a Crosley Crusier Record Player from work for about £50 with discount and a voucher taken off. Bargain right?

I’ve wanted a new record player for a while and liked the look of those players so decided to get one. I’ve got to say I love it, it looks good and sounds good. If you want to get a record player and don’t want to spend a small fortune then I recommend getting one. I also bought Prince – Purple Rain soundtrack along with the player as it was there, I’m a fan and have wanted it on vinyl for some time. As a kid growing up in the 80’s I was a fan of Prince and used to have vinyl back then. Being an 80’s kid as was a fan of Michael Jackson and Thriller is a classic so that was one I had to have. I kind of wish I kept the vinyl I had back then and I wouldn’t have had to start a collection all over again. After my first Prince purchase I bought The Stone Roses, Blondie – Parallel Lines and one of my all time favourite film soundtracks Trainspotting limited edition orange vinyl. I love that movie and soundtrack it brings back so many memories of the 90’s and being a teenager. The limited edition orange vinyl comes in orange vinyl form obviously and two records. It looks good and it’s right what people say vinyl sounds better. The soundtrack sounds so good on vinyl. So that was a good edition to my collection and I’ll be collecting more vinyl soon.

Captain Fawcett And Beard Tips

Hello, I’ve had a beard now for nearly four years and I don’t think I could ever shave it off, it’s a part of me now.

Some people have asked me how I take care of it and keep it neat. It’s simple really, you grow it to the length you want, invest in a decent beard trimmer and trim your beard when needed and use a good beard oil. I heard about beard oil a couple of years ago now and I decided to give it a try.

One brand of beard oil I have tried is Captain Fawcett. The latest I’ve tried is Booze & Baccy by Ricki Hall. I bought a 10ml bottle for £11:99. You only need a few drops of the oil, It looks great, smells great and make your beard feel great. I also bought Ricki Halls beard balm too for £15:00. It’s perfect for taming your beard. In the past I’ve tried the moustache wax for £9:00 it’s good for taming your moustache or pointing the ends if that’s what your into. The original beard oil smells good and works great too. Last but not least is Jimmy Niggles Million Dollar beard oil. It has 23 carrot gold flakes in the oil, It smells great and leaves your beard feeling like (pardon the pun) a million dollars.

Other tips I recommend to maintain your beard is to buy a good comb too, I use Kent combs they are reasonably priced and do the job. One of the most important things to do in growing a beard is to just let it grow don’t try and trim it in the beginning and mess with the neck line to much. You can style it the way you want once it grows to a decent length and keep it the way you want it. So if you’re growing a beard or already have one I recommend those little tips and beard oils. You’ll not regret trying them, your beard will smell nice and will thank you for it too.

Lead Us Not Into Temptation

Hello, I’ve been single for a while now and although sometimes I think I would like to meet someone I actually love being single. You’re just free to do what you want and date who you want.

There’s loads of temptation whether it be on a night out or at work wherever. It’s hard to meet a girl you actually like or who likes you. Sometimes it’s never simple, you can be friends with a girl and end kissing or sleeping with them on a night out and that either makes are breaks that friendship. There’s dating apps that can be good or bad depending who you meet. I’ve had good dates and bad dates from using Tinder. I’m not a fan of it to be honest I’d rather meet someone and see if you click. There’s nothing better when you just click with a girl. Adventures in dating can be fun and I’m always game for a night out so it’s fun meeting new people. There’s always the disappointment of being rejected by a girl you like to which isn’t fun, but you just to roll with the punches. Shy bairns get nowt as the saying goes. If you like someone you’ve got to go for it. What have you got to lose?

One of the problems of being single though is when going out with couples. I’ve recently watched Trainspotting again and the club scene where Renton and other single lads are standing alone dancing looking at girls while there friends are all coupled up is what it’s like. You’re either third wheeling are looking to hook up. That scene totally nails it just like it nails everything in that movie. Also the soundtrack is amazing and the song playing in the club is Temptation, totally fitting and a great song. Watch it here… Trainspotting Club Scene Another problem and danger of going out when you’re in that drunken haze and you feel the need to pull. You sometimes lower your standards and go for anyone like Renton does in that scene. Which can lead to an awkward moment the next morning. Another thing that’s dangerous is Snapchat or your phone in general when you’re out. I always check my phone after a night out to see if I’ve messaged anyone or snapped them. It’s embarrassing but funny reading them back the next morning if you have.

That’s the single life in the modern world today though, so be careful and smart out there if you can… “Keep us from temptation, lead us not into temptation…” – Heaven 17 Temptation

My Thoughts On Spider-Man Homecoming

Hello happy Monday. Yesterday I went to see Spider-Man Homecoming.

This is the first Spider-Man movie I’ve been   excited to see in a while after a few disappointing movies. The first thing that got me excited was that he was in Captain America: Civil War and Marvel were giving the rights to make a Spider-Man movie. It was Marvels big chance to make a good Spider-Man movie about one of the most famous Marvel characters and most famous superheroes ever. They introduced him in a big way first in Civil War He stole the show in that movie as he showed up stole Captain Americas shield and uttered the now famous line in the movie “Hey everyone.” Mavel got everything right the choice of actor Tom Holland is a great Spider-Man, the best in my opinion, the suit was right and his humour which is a big part of Spider-Man.

Now came the big test a Spider-Man movie. With his entrance made in Civil War it was time for Tom Hollands Peter Parker/Spider-Man to make his first big movie and make it good. Tom Holland and Marvel have certainly succeeded in making this a big, funny and in my opinion the best Spider-Man movie ever. It has so many elements to this movie. You’ve got the big superhero action sequences, to the friendship and relationships he has with his Aunt May and with Tony Stark his mentor. It has funny moments and is a coming of age story. A young 15 year old boy having these powers and learning to juggle everything in his life. In parts it reminded me of an 80’s teen movie, with some of the music and especially the scene of him running through the gardens with Ferris Bueler playing on tv as he passes through those gardens. Michael Keaton is great as The Vulture and Robert Downey Jr is as always awesome as Tony Stark. I like the fact they made Aunt May younger and cast Marisa Tomei she’s funny and likeable as her. His best friend and relationship they have in the movie is great too and funny to watch. Of course there’s a love interest but there’s no Gwen Stacey or Mary Jane. His love interest in this is a girl in his high school called Liz and maybe Michelle in the next film? There’s a few twists and surprises in the movie which I won’t spoil and some cameos too from Donald Glover and Jon Favareau. There’s some more cameos too but I won’t spoil that either.

So all in all I was impressed by the movie and think they got everything spot on. This has to be the best Spider-Man movie ever made and Tom Holland the best Peter Parker/Spider-Man too. It’s also one of Marvels best movies too. The movie as a whole felt like a celebration that Spider-Man was home at Marvel and Homecoming is the perfect name for the movie too because he was home where he belongs. So if you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for? Go, no seriously go see it. You won’t be disappointed.

My Top Ten Of Favourite Movies Growing Up

Hello, I’ve been a fan of movies ever since I was a kid. I loved going to the cinema as a child and I still do now. It’s a good way to escape the world and visit different parts of the world, whether it’s somewhere in our world or a make believe place. The movies I grew up watching as a child in the 80’s and 90’s were great. There’s so many classics ranging from si-fi to action, adventure, comedy and horror. It’s hard to pick a top ten but these are mine.

1. Star Wars

2. Jaws

3. Raiders Of The Lost Ark

4. Back To The Future

5. Ghostbusters

6. The Goonies

7. Jurassic Park

8. The Karate Kid

9. The Lost Boys

10. The Monster Squad

Star Wars: Star Wars is one of my all time favourite movies that I’ve loved from seeing it as a young child. I became a fan straight away and watched all the movies and had all the toys. When episode 7 came out, I was like a kid again going to see it I was so excited even more than my son and seeing it with him and watching him feel the same way about it as me was awesome. I’ll always be a fan even though the prequels were pretty bad.

Jaws: Jaws is a classic movie for me, I first saw it at a young age and remember seeing the great white shark fin in the water and that famous music playing and becoming obsessed with sharks from that moment on, especially great whites. There is so many iconic moments in the movie from the one I just described to the famous “We’re going to need a bigger boat.” The moment of the first shark attack which you don’t even see the shark building suspense to when you do. To the moment of Quint gets eaten alive are all great parts of a classic movie. It was the start of the big summer blockbusters and launched Stephen Spielberg’s career.

The top two are my favourites for the reasons above and the rest I could go on about for ages but I’ll cut it short a bit here. The Karate Kid is one of my favourites because I’m also a big fan of martial arts and was am a big fan of Bruce Lee. The Lost Boys was the first horror movie I ever watched and I loved it instantly. It got me into horror movies and vampires. The other movies are all classics and I’m sure there in most people top ten and there’s other films I watched growing up I love too, but these all stand the test of time for me and can still watch to this day.

If You Haven’t Got Anything Nice To Say, Don’t Say Anything

Hello, I’m back and I’ve got a few things to get of my chest in the next few blogs, so a couple of new, different blogs coming. I said in The Blog Where It All Begins to expect a pretty honest blog by me so here we go.

I have a full time job working at a shop and at times it’s like being back at school. People gossip and spread lies like wild fire at times. People get in relationships with people they work with and that’s not always the best idea considering if you break up you still have to work with that person. I myself have been in that situation so I know what I’m talking about. It’s like when we have our Christmas party the talk of the shop the next day is who hooked up with who, who argued or who had a fight. It always happens and not just at that time of year. It’s human nature to talk about people but sometimes it just gets a bit childish and blown out of per portion. I wonder at times if some people have nothing better to talk about. Everyone of us is adults and I just think everyone should be a little more mindful about what they say. Not everyone takes things the same way and people need to realise gossip and rumours can actually have a negative impact on someone.

I just like to keep myself to myself and only tell stuff to the people I trust which is only a few people to be honest. Like the saying goes “If you haven’t got anything nice to say, don’t say anything.”
